Water Test Results

Water Testing

The District of Lillooet operates 6 water sources on 4 systems.  Water Test Results will be updated weekly. Click here for weekly water test results and other reports.

Weekly testing of District water sources continues throughout the year.  Some tests are performed by Interior Health, and some by the District of Lillooet.

Supply

When sufficient supply is provided from Town Creek and Dickie Creek, Conway Wells #1 and #2 and the REC Centre Wells are not in use.
  • REC Centre Well #1 has not been in use since mid August, 2009.
  • REC Centre Well #2 came online on April 14, 2010, and is now in service.
  • Town creek and Dickie creek started their spring freshet cycle and have been off line since April 16th, 2010.
  • REC Well #2 has been our primary water source since then and Conway wells have been supplementing whenever demand exceeds REC well #2’s capacity.
Our water system turns the wells on and off automatically based on demand and reservoir levels. As water demand increases in mid to late spring, the wells will be called to duty intermittently and as the summer approaches the demand increases so the wells run more consistently to keep the reservoirs full.  Then in the fall as the demand decreases the wells start to be called intermittently again and in the winter they become dormant due to low demand. Stream water is used continuously through the year except during high turbidity events.

Long-Term Plans

The recent report on Lillooet's Short and Long Term Water Supply Options entitled 'Options to Address Water Supply Impacts of the Forest Fire in the Town Creek Watershed' is available here.
